Q

quickstop

I am trying to find a way to place vertical text in powerpoint, in English
not Asian. Help says to select text then click "change direction" button in
formatting menu, but I can't find ANY button that says "change text
direction" Help!

In 2007 you can:
*Go to the format tab on the ribbon
*Click on the bottom right of the SHAPE STYLES group to show the whole menu
*In the window that pops up (format shape window) select text box in the
left column
*In the right column under text direction you can choose how the text is
laid out

Bob,
If you use PPT2003 or previous. Draw a text box. Type your text and use
Shift+Enter after each
letter and enter after each word. Select the box, and choose Format -
Alignment - Center. If necessary you can resize the text box. Using line
spacing you can adjust the space between letters and paragraphs.
Second possibility: use WordArt, click on the WordArt button on the toolbar,
choose one of the vertical styles at the far right. Type your text. Adjust
the WordArt object using the WordArt toolbar.

Hi,
You would see that only if you have installed the Office version with Far
East language support.
