Vertically center text line

I use Mathtype for inserting equations in documents. This feature results in
a vertically centered equation and equation number.

When I want to use this format for existing formulas, I use the add
reference number to add the equation number. I copy the style and the
horizontal spacing is ok. But it doesn't center the line and number
vertically.

How can I achieve this.(Without having to create all formula's again)

Hi Sander,

One way to achieve this: Put the formula and the equation number in a
one-row, two-column table, and vertically center the cells.
