Very Weird Problem with Word

I have Word 2002 that came shipped with my PC together
with Works Suite 2002. Had been running sluggishly so I
thought I would Remove then Add using add/remove. Removed
and reinstalled but would not work. Now I can't remove
even. Get message Patch Pacakge cannot be opened. Verify
that patch package exists and you can opend it .....

I also tried intalling word 97 just to see if that would
work and have same problem. Can someone please give me an
idea of what might be wrong ? Thanks

This can be caused by several things, but to correct it you will need
to zap the Windows Installer entry in the Registry and reinstall
Office.

Obtain the following utility and use it to remove only the reference
to Office. Once that is complete then you'll need to reinstall Office
to point the Windows Installer to your installation CD:

btw seldom does reinstalling ever resolve a problem.

Thanks Beth ... that allowed me to delete Word 2002. Now
when I re-install Word 2002 it is looking to be
activated. When I try to activate I get a message that it
has already been activated yet I cannot seem to see where
or to use Word at all. Very frustrating. Any thoughts ??
