Video in ppt doesn't work

Recently, I inserted a video clip which I edited in Adobe Premiere Pro
into a Powerpoint presentation, and it worked fine on my laptop,
running Windows 7 and Powerpoint 2010. I copied it onto a flash drive
and ran it on another laptop, using Vista and Powerpoint 2007. It
didn't work on that laptop--wouldn't play at all. Can anyone hazard a
guess as to why and what I should've done?

PPT 2010 embeds videos now.

Earlier versions didn't, and as a result don't support embedded videos.

Applying SP2 to 2007 brings support for embedded video playback though,
so that's what you might want to do.

If you need to support users on systems other than your own, you'll need
to link to the videos rather than inserting them.

Put the video files in the same folder as the PPT/PPTX first.

Choose to Insert them and in the insert dialog box, click the down arrow
to the right of the Insert button; click Link to File rather than
Insert.

Be sure to ship the video files along with the PPT/PPTX file.
