View attachment files on task assignment details

Bahram

We have files attached to a task, but by click on "My Tasks" and select that
specific task, Assignment Details page will be open. On this page under
Attachments I am not able to see my attachment files, eventhoutgh the
attachments are avilable on project work space site.
I uploaded my attachment files to the task with same process (select the
task on my task --->(Assignment Details page)---->attachment--->select
document, and attach the document), but it is not avalable on the same page
under document to view it.
Please advice.

Hmm, you should be able to see them. I'm sure you have selected the
Documents radio button within the attachments section in the assignments
details page.

The only thing that I can think of is that you have approval on the PWS
page, and the documents need approving...

If you republish the project, do the attachments now appear on the
Assignment Details page in PWA? Let us know.

Hey Ben

Thanks for your post. I have selected the Documents radio button. Also I am
my own default manager owner, and tried with to approve the task, but it
still doesn't show up under attachments on the My task.
Any other suggestion.

Hey Andrew,

Thanks for your post.On my workspace under Project Documents page it shows
modified. It has date and time, owner is my user (I also tried with out my
user ID), and as far as the status I tired "Draft" and "Final", and "modified
by" is my user name. I can see/open the attachments over the project work
space site, but doesn't show up under the task on my PWA site.
If you need more info let me know.

Hello Dale,

Thanks for you help.I've tried to republish the project through Microsoft
project professional (client on my machine), and also I republished it on PWA
site on project center by Edit Project Properties (Save and publish), but
still nothing shows up under the task.
Please let me know if I missed something on my attachment setting.

Ben,

Other thing that I have to add to your post is, if I attach a file to a task
it doesn't ask for the approval, and it doesn't show anything under approval.
It only goes to the approval or ask for the approval when I change the
Percent complete value. I tried to attache a file and change the percentage
of my task at the same time and saved it. In this case it asks for the
approval and I did approve, but still attachment is not available to view. I
am running Microsoft project server 2007-SP1 on windows 2003 ent.
Thank You.

Does project web access site need any configuration to talk to the PWA site
or it should automaticlly talk to the site and show the documents?

Andrew,

I do have another PWA site on diffrent server, and I have the same issue on
the other server as well. I can see the update on the percentage/progress on
task, and I do have attachment on Project Documents in the work space site of
that project, but I do not see the attachments under the task on My task in
PWA. I have all the privileges, and I am my own default assigment owner, and
timesheet manager. Did we miss anything on the setting?
Please advice. I will post the solution if I find any.
Thank You.

Where is the Project Server features to sync? should I turn on in the
workspace manually?

B

Bahram

I have Project Workspace Collaboration Lists feature that is on by default.

Project Workspace Collaboration Lists
Provides the lists required within a Project Workspace for integration with
Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 including Project Documents, Project
Issues, Project Risks, and Project Deliverables.

Bahram

Dale,

Do you have any other suggestion? Do I need to active any feature on PWA or
project work space?
Thanks
Bahram

No, there is no special feature you need to activate. I am stumped why your
users cannot see the uploaded document when you apply the Assignment Details
view. Perhaps someone else has an idea for you. Sorry I cannot be of more
help.
