View comments in updates

Hi there. I am new to MS Project and need help on something that seems
simple...but not for me.

How do you view the comments when resources update a project? Is there a
way outside of sending out a Status Report to see the comments along with the
updates to projects? In sending out a Status Report to collect information
regarding the last steps taken in each respective project/ task - I add
another step for myself in needing to attach the update to the project.

This is an amazing tool - I must be missing something that can make using
this tool as easy as MS intended.

So summarize, I need to receive updates, tracking hours on each task of the
respective project, as well as have update comments viewable to all project
managers.

I am not sure about that but keeping in mind that your are using Project pro
2003 with Project server 2003:
--When a resource update the tasks hrs from PWA , there is a link called
"Insert Notes" & update all, that reflects to the project tasks.

Thanks Amit for your quick response! That is great! Unfortunately I failed
to include I am using Project Pro 2007/ Project Server 2007/ SharePoint 3.0.
Yes, you are correct regarding the "insert notes" options. But only I can
see them and I can only find them under Approvals/ Task Updates/ Applied Task
Update Requests adn Errors...then selecting the task update, I can view the
note. I need to be able to apply the notes to the tasks/ projects
respectively as well as pull a report on the latest updates. Any ideas? I
was hoping everything would carry over to the Project Workspace...but
doesn't.

Is there a better way to use this tool for reporting the updates and comments?

You can view the Comments attached to any update by clicking the name of one
of the tasks updated by the resource who added the Comments. You will see a
dialog that shows you the changes made to the task by the resource, any Note
added by the resource, and the Comments on the update as well. Hope this
helps.

Thank you Dale. It is somewhat helpful. I need the comments to be viewable
to everyone and they are not in Project Center. I am the only one who has
access to project professional and Applied Task Update Requests - the only
two places I know of to review comments. It seems as though I am missing
something really simple...and in front of me...but I can't seem to figure it
out.

Also, there was some sort of 'purge' lastnight and now I can not see any of
this past weeks updates on Project Server and it reset who receives the
updates and update email notifications...

Thank you again, sincerely, for everyone's help and guidance. I learning
from scratch with only online and book tutorials...
