View object methods, argument varViewContext - how to get it ?

Hello all,

several view methods (SelectText, SelectNodes, GetContextNodes) has argument
varViewContext . Description of dociumentation is "The ID of the control that
is used for the context." Can you explain, what does it mean and how can I
get it and use it ?
