View tasks for multiple projects

Hi,

I am struggling with trying to create a view that shows all the projects I
am responsible for but also allows me to drill down into each project too.

What I have been asked for is a high level view for our Execs that shows the
key completed/uncompleted milestones for all projects rolled up into a
single view, and whihc allows drill down from this view.

I know how to do this in MSProject, but this is a view that our Execs have
asked for and they only have Project Web Access.

Currently they can only drill down to one project at a time from the Project
Center view and this doesn't show the relationship between milestones in
different projects.

Seems like it should be something that's available but I cant figure this
one out ..

Can anyone advise please ?

Thanks

Gary

We enable that sort of functionality with custom web reports that get the
data directly from the database. You can use ASP, ASP.NET, Office Web
Components, Crystal Reports, or something similar to present the data.

Good morning Gary,

Please check out the following Microsoft ISV: www.epkgroup.com and in
particular, their EPK Portfolio Product which should provide your executives
with the view(s) they require. Please note that EPK works with both the
2002 and 2003 versions of PWA.

Hi Byron/Dave,

Its a bit dissapointing and surprising that functionality that would be
expected, even necessary, in a true portfolio product requires considerable
additional effort or expense (either through other reporting tools or add-on
products).

I can't help but wonder if Microsoft have grasped the true natureof
portfolio project management !!

I can't believe that they have missed out this vital component of portfolio
management reporting.

Let's hope they do something about it PDQ - Project 2003 would have been an
ideal opportunity - but seems it has been missed out of that too !

Gary-

The Portfolio Analyzer tool allows you to dee all
projects or just a select group of projects as well as
the ability to drill down as far as you need depending on
how you set up your Analyzer report. You can also
customize your OLAP cube (I have not done this, just read
that it can be done and I believe there is a KB article
that covers it as well). It may take some getting used
to but it works an awful lot like the Excel Pivot Table
functionality if you have ever used that. Hope this
helps.
