In order to use either of these features, you must enable the timesheet
approval process in Project Server. By the way, timesheet approval is
disallowed in Project Server by default, so you must ask your Project Server
administrator to enable these features by doing the following:
1. Log into PWA with Administrator permissions
2. Click the Admin menu
3. Click the Customize Project Web Access link
4. In the Time Period Settings section, select the "Managed periods" option
5. Insert one or more time periods in the list of Managed Time Periods
6. Click the Save Changes button
7. Click the Server Configuration link
8. In the "Select the features..." list in the middle of the page, deselect
"Deny" and select "Allow" for the "Approve timesheets for resources" option
and the "Timesheet Approval" option in the Tasks section of the list
9. Click the Save Changes button
By default, timesheet approval is only enabled for people in the Resource
Managers group. You will need to enable it for your Project Managers group
if you want them to approve timesheets as well. Hope this helps.
