File based:
1) Transfer the PPT file to the hard drive before opening
2) Reduce the content size of the first slide
3) Open a very small PowerPoint file that loads quickly, then hyperlinks to
the presentation that loads slowly (while displaying something on the
screen)
Machine based:
4) Increase machine RAM & CPU speed
5) Close all other open programs
6) Disable virus scanning for PowerPoint files (or Office plug-in)
