I have recently upgraded my word 97 to word 2003. I have a buch of lecture notes in Physical Chemistry which contain equations from the equation editor. When I open the document in word 2003, the equation boxes are emty. If I double click on an equation, it appears with the equation editor active. As soon as I un click the equation, it dissapears. Also, when I print the document, the equations appear in print. My only problem is getting them to display. Can someone provide me the solution.

Try going to the View tab Tools | Options and making sure that "Drawings" *is* checked and "Picture placeholders" is *not* checked.
