When I access my web from my computer and click on a link to an excel file,
a box comes up "Tranferring File..." and I am asked to connect to the server
using my user name and password. If I cancel the excel file is loaded.

Other computers do not have this problem. The file is loaded without the
"Transferring File..." or connection request. What possible parameter do I
have turned on (or off) that is causing this? Any ideas?

If you are using Excel 2000, it could be the same known bug that affects
Word 2000. The cure (for Word, at least) is to download and install all
Office 2000 updates and service packs - particularly SP1.

Never heard of it with Excel, but there's a similar issue with Word.

There's a link to info and also a downloadable fix here for the word issue.
It may or may not work.

I downloaded and installed the latest service pack which includes the SP1.
Didn't change anything.

I am going to check my web settings although I don't have this problem with
other sites.
