Viewing Images + ClipArt Functions

When I copy/paste an image into Word 2007 it appears as if it is a blank
graphics box. The only way that I can view the image is to go to
Print-Preview. In previous versions of Word, the image appeared in the
document that I was creating.
How can I get images to appear in Word 2007?
Also, how does the "insert clipart" function work in Word 2007?

Thank you for your help.

You probably have "Picture placeholders" enabled: Office Button | Word
Options | Advanced | Show document content, and clear the check box.

RE: Viewing Images
Yes, thank you that was the solution.

What about ClipArt?
What happened to the built-in library of images? When I tried to insert an
image, I searched for "party" and I just saw a bunch of squares, each
containing the same generic multi-coloured box graphic (which usually
indicates a problem with the graphic image).
Help....Thanks.

i am using word 2003, and lately noticed the same things. the clipart is
showing up as the little box graphic. ( i cleared the temp internet cache).
also on the microsoft clipart site, many of the cliparts that are available
are not showing up as pictures, but rather as empty boxes
