Viewing .jpg and .gif attachments

I am using Office XP Standard running on Win2k and have
completed installing all the services packs for both and
download from a POP3 account.

This is very irritating, as I like to use Outlook for all
its features and I don't want to go back to using OE for
it is lacking other than being able to preview these types
of attachment.

Is there any possible way to be able to preview these
types of files in the preview pane. I have searched the
database and haven't been able to find what I am looking
for in the way of answers.
