Dear all,

I am using Office 2007 Professional Edition on Windows 7 Home Premium.
I have many documents created in Office 2003 and Open office which i am not
able to open in Office 2007.

I downloaded the Microsoft compatability pack -fileformatConverters.exe but
the installation returned an error - "Another version of this procuct is
already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue."

Please help
Thanks in advance

The compatibility pack is for those that have an earlier version of Office
and are trying to view files created in 2007 format. So you dont need it,
nor will it help
Office 2007 will open earlier version office docs, what err msgs are you
getting? what type of docs? are these docs on your drive?

Dear DL,

Thank you for you response.

It worked after a reboot. The documents were stored in an external drive.
I am need of viewing .odt files or documents, spreadsheet, presentation files
that were created using openoffice application in Ubuntu 8.04. I am sure
there is a plug-in for this too. Kindly guide to use the correct microsoft
plug-in.

Appreciate your response

DL,

My apologies for the late reply.

I installed service pack 2 for MS Office 2007 which includes the
compatability pack for .odt files. Now, am able to open documents that were
created using open office.

I have created a word 2007 document using a minutes of meeting template
downloaded from the microsoft site. Even after completing the spell check,
everytime I open the document I see the many words marked for spell check.

How do i solve this?

Thanks
Avinash
