Viewing pst file

Fennis

Hi,

Is it possible to see the contents of a PST file without
going through Outlook? Are there any tools available to
do this?
I know in Outlook Express that there are tools that can
view the contenst of the dbx file without using OE.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, forgot to add; it still requires Outlook to be installed since
Outlook handles the protection/encryption of the file.

Yes, there are pst-viewers like http://www.mailnavigator.com

Also note that Exchange is able to import pst-files

yeha i had a look and was going to say that it needs
Outlook.

Do you know of any that don't need Outlook to look at the
PST file?

Thanks

Nope, and I don't believe there are any (legal) tools that can as the file
format is owned by Microsoft.

This not the issue, it is using the Extended MAPI API
to read the PST file format. Not a cake walk.

To put it down the hard way :)

I meant to say that the file format is exclusive to Outlook.
