viewing resource overallocation for all projects

Please can you tell me if there is a way to view resource
overallocation across the entire range of projects?
In the resource usage reports it seems that unless all the
plans are open at once the only real detail to be seen is
for the open plan - is that correct?
I'd like to see just the tasks where the conflicts are,
across all the projects - is this possible, please, and if
so, perhaps someone could tell me how to do it.
Many thanks

Lynne:

You must open the project to see the detail. Typically, the summary
information is enough to determine where the problem is coming from. You can
always open and close project files to examine the detail.

Thanks for this - are you telling me that there isn't a
report where I can choose just one resource's
overallocation across all projects?
(I do feel a bit blonde with all this...)
thanks

Lynne:

I didn't say that. You *can* use the resource usage view that way, but you
need to open the projects.

Oops!
Thanks for this - am I to deduce from your response that there is a
better way to view just one resource's overallocation across all
projects? If that is the case please can you tell me how I do this?
Many thanks

You can also use the Portfolio Analyzer so see this information but not down
to the task level, but you can see by project and by day.
