I think I have a bug in the Views menu. When I am in a View and insert a
column, the table definition is updated with the new column field . I don't
want the table updated.

What can I do?

Hello Harry,
That's not a bug, that's the way Project works. But it's so easy to hide a
column when you don't need it anymore : select the column and press Del

or you can copy the original views back from global using the organizer
(found under the tools menu) ... (just ensure that you copy FROM global to
your file!).

Hi Harry,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Better still, never amend a view - always create a new one or a copy of the
nearest to your needs and then copy that. You might like to have a look at
my series on Microsoft Project in the TechTrax ezine, particularly
#21-Customizing Views, which is just about to be issued, at this site:
http://tinyurl.com/2xbhc or this:

(Perhaps you'd care to rate the article before leaving the site, :)
Thanks.)

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/>

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Sorry - I wasn't thinking fully, my next article is Customizing Tables
(Views in April edition) which, of course, form part of the view. I should
have said never amend a table, but the same principles apply to views.
