Virus-check an uploaded file

I have a page which the user uses to upload files.
Is there any way I can run an Anti-Virus check on the file that is uploaded.
If possible, I would like to run it on the server so that I can be sure that
the software is up-to-date.

Are you running Anti-virus software on your server?

If so, maker sure the option to scan file on Create, Modify is checked.

If you are not running your own server, your hosting provider is probably
already doing this - but don't count on it, check with them!! Especially if
you are downloading or making the files available for others to download!
