Hello, I hope you can help me. I think or should I say know that I have a
virus in my computer. I keep getting e-mails from people I don’t know saying
that the e-mail cannot be delivered because on infected files or attachments.
I also received a message from a family member who told me she received
e-mail from me when I know I didn’t send one. She said it was blank and she
isn’t having any problem with her computer so I don’t think it infected hers.
I have an anti virus program, (McAfee virus scan). But when I try and
download it to my computer it opens up and then it just closes. No warning or
message it just closes. I tried to download another anti virus soft wear but
it does the same thing. To top it off when I go to the Internet and search
for an anti virus scan or soft wear it show’s me a lot of web sites to go to
but when I try and go there or click on the web address it too closes. It’s
like my computer won’t accept any anti virus programs at all. Also I tried to
download some other programs that I had on my computer before and it gives me
a message that (System 32 does not run on a dos program) and it will not let
me download the program at all. I do now some things about computers but I’m
not a professional. I can format my computer I’ve done it before lots of
times. But I don’t want to format. It takes so long to get my computer back
to working order the way I like it. I’m a teacher and I have a lot of files
on my computer. I have them all on back up CD’s but it still takes a long
time after formatting to get my computer right. I don’t know if you can help
me or not. I’m hoping you can. I’m running on Widows XP home addition. And if
there is any other information that you my need please get back to me and I
will do my best to provide it for you. I need to get this problem fixed
before I infect others. I don’t want to do that. Please e-mail me back as
