Visio 2000: Make text of connector label transparent

I wrote a macro to make transparent the text of connector labels.
This was in Visio 2003. However, it only changes the font in Visio
2000 (some wingdings/dingbats/symbol font). I looked in the Format-

Text GUI panel, and there is no way to make the text transparent in

Visio 2000...or is there, but simply not in this panel?

No, the transparent text feature was added later than V2000. I don't
have 2002 now but it is in V2003.
