Visio 2000 on windows xp pro

I am getting a runtime error when I start Visio 2000 on Windows xp pro


Message is in a dialog box
Microsoft visual C++ Runtime Library

X - Program: C:\Program Files\Visio32.exe

Then application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Any clues?

I get this when I get a program check (uncaught exception). Sounds
like your setup needs work.

Microsoft's web site says that visio 2000 requires NT.
Microsoft's web site says that visio 2003 requries XP.
You might want to determine if 2000 will run on XP.
