Visio 2002 custom toolbars not permanent

Like other Office software I can cutomise the toolbars using the menu.
Visio does not remember my changes. When I reload Visio I get the usual
toolbars ticked in the Customize/Toolbars options. I want them every time
I load Visio. Have I a setup problem? Am I not ticking the correct boxes?

Several users have discovered that Adobe Acrobat may be causing this
behavior. You might try updating that software.
