Visio 2002 pro crashes at startup

I was making a drawing in Visio Pro 2002 sr 1 when suddenly the program just
quit, without giving any warning or popup.

I have found an articel about this at Microsoft KB (ID 324291, reviewed 15
july 2004) and followed this to the letter.
Nothing helps. Whenever I startup visio the program gives a popup, and
disappears.
I get the following messages on screen:

Please wait while Visio updates its directory cache.

Next I get the standaard opening window, with on the leftside the different
category's. Then I get a popup saying Visio has encountered an error and will
close down. In the windows logger next messages appear:

I am using Windows 2000 PRO SP4

Since I use Visio very much, this is becoming a high priority issue .
