Visio 2003 Org Chart Position Type

I've looked up how to change a position type in an org chart (right click on
shape, select Position Type and hit 'OK')...however when I right click,
select Position Type...nothing appears and nothing changes. Am I missing a
toolbar/dialog box?

Thanks for any guidance!

Does this happen with a new org chart?
Does the org chart main menu appear?

Well - I think I figured out the 'why' to the problem. It seems the org chart
that was sent was created shape by shape, line drawn by line so I think
that's why I can't change the position type.

I tried opening up a new page to create a new org chart but when I drag a
org position shape onto my page and a subordinate on top of the exec shap,
I'm not getting anything. It's staying as shapes...not org chart shapes (with
the auto connect lines)...and I still can't change the position type.

Any idea why?

Thanks!!!

Maybe the diagram was created with shapes derived from the orgchart
shapes but without the use of the addon. Or perhaps with a different
version of Visio, could it have been created in Visio 2007?

This can occur if you have dis-abled Automation Events. Check under Tools
Options > Advanced (in Visio 2007, or Security in Visio 2003). See if
there is a check-mark next to "Enable Automation Events". If not, place a
check there and click OK to save.

Automation Events are used in many of Visio's solutions, so the option
should always be enabled, unless there is some specific reason to disable
them.
