Shortly after clicking on the text entry fields in the 'Size & Position'
window in Visio 2003 (SP2) the text input field looses input focus and
keystrokes do not get accepted. This can also occur between keystrokes, for
example while attempting to enter '123.5mm' after entering '12' the input
focus is lost and the dimension set to the incorrect value '12' and the
'3.5mm' keystrokes are ignored.

Is this happening with just one shape type or just one drawing type or
with everything?
It sounds to me like you have some application/addon updating the
drawing in the background and it is changing the focus.

Many thanks for your help this has helped me solve the problem.

The problem was happening with all drawings & shapes. It turned out be an
application called 'Supply Frame - Go Part'
(http://www.supplyframe.com/gopart/) which was causing the problem. It puts
itself in the windows startup folder and runs in the background with an icon
in the notification tray.

I have found it was also the cause of some strange behaviour in the dialog
editor in Visual Studio 6.
