Visio 2007 Event Monitor Add-On: Strange Copy & Paste behaviour

Grandpa Steve

Hi,
Has anyone tried to copy text from the Visio Event Monitor window, and
paste to another MS Office product (eg Word / Excel) ?

It appears that Event Monitor doesn't use the same clipboard as everything
else, or maybe there's a little gremlin in there!

If I copy the text from the Event Monitor text box, and paste into say
Excel, the pasted text is often (but not always) something different, i.e.
the last Cut/Copy I made in another Office product.

There are controls that don't respond correctly to both types of
Copy/Paste keyboard shortcuts.
If you are using Ctrl-Insert and that doesn't do the copy correctly
then try Ctrl-C instead.

Thanks Paul,

Using CTRL+Insert does copy the text from Event Monitor to the 'Office'
Clipboard, which I can then paste wherever I like )

Interestingly, in the Event Monitor menu: Edit, Copy displays the keyboard
shortcut CTRL+C.
Using either the menu command or the keyboard shortcut CTRL+C allows me to
copy and paste text ONLY WITHIN Event Monitor!
Methinks there's a version control issue - Office Clipboard is no longer
(necessarily) where it was when Event Monitor was last released...

Hope this helps others...

Steve
