Visio and Audits

Hi,

Can Visio audit the network? can it return the serial
numbers of the PCs, logon user, cpu processor? you get the
picture. I have visio professional with the networking
component. Thanks

If :
a.) you have an appropriate level of visio with the network add-on (vent)
b.) if the devices in your network have SNMP enabled
i.e. wmi/snmp installed, started, and with a read community name
assigned
then you can use visio for some of the data. Visio's ability to audit a
network is
based on SNMP and things like user logon's are not included.
An alternative is to investigate the use of wmi scripts for inventory
(technet.microsoft.com/script center)
