visio can not open xls

Good Day All,

I was trying to create an organization chart in Visio by importing data in
an xls file, however when I browse to the file, select it, and press next,
Visio replies that it can not open file; anybody have any clues why?

Is it because the xls file was created in Excell 2003, and Visio is 2007?

There should be no problem with opening an Exel 2003 file with the Visio
2007 wizard.

Is there any problem opening the file in Excel? What is the file extension?

Perhaps you need to close the Excel file in Excel first?
