Visio closes when opening existing or creating new - no erro reported though

Hello,

I am using Visio Enterprise Architect SR-1.

I have seen many posts related to Visio not being able to open drawings but
I believe my issue might be slightly different, as I do not receive any
errors.

Visio will load but if I try to open an existing drawing, either through the
File > Open command or selecting in File Explorer, Visio loads the stencils
and whatnot but just before loading the drawing it appears to close. This
happens also when electing to create a new drawing. I do not receive any
error messages however.

In task manager I can still see Visio.exe running under the Process tab.

I have tried repairing the installation, uninstalling/reinstalling Visio,
and reinstalling Visual Studio .NET Enterprise Architect to no effect.

Any ideas?
