Visio Crashes when templates load

Trying to load a template in Visio 2003, on XP SP2 and Visio closes
completely with no warning or errors.

you can not " read up " i.e. v2002 cannot read v2003 files unless they are
saved as v2002 format first.

Excuse me, I neglected to mention that the templates in question are those
that were installed with Visio 2003.

If you try to open a v2003 template with v2002, you will probably have
issues if there is embedded code (such as flowcharts, org charts, etc.). The
format is different.
