Visio Crashes

I just bought Visio 2007. I loaded fine. I can go to the main window, but
when I try to search for shapes, it crashes. I'm running 2.4Ghz processor and
3GB of RAM. Any suggestions?

Does it work properly for every other function?
Can you create new documents, drag shapes from the stencils etc?
menu Tools -> Options -> Shape Search
What are your settings?

Does this happen when including Internet Search only, or even when using
Local Search? (Visio Search options are found at Tools > Options > Shape
Search) You can try turning off Internet Search, in case there is some
network access conflict.

Two things I would try - First, use Windows Update / Microsoft update to
ensure that you have all the latest updates for Visio 2007, especially SP1.
Then, whether the updates require it or not, restart your computer. If
that doesn't help, then maybe you could give us a little more info - What
OS are you running and is it x86 or x64? What is the 'signature' of the
crash listed in your Application event log? (Signature includes things
like Application name and version, Module name, and Offset). Did you
select "Send Report" from the Error Reporting dialog? If you didn't
before, please make sure to do so if the updates don't help.

In general, this is not expected. You may also want to work with live
support to help troubleshoot.
