Visio database diagrams not working

I have Visio Pro 2007 (or so I think)

I see and can select and use the software & database templates. Select
Database Modelling Diagram template, and have the shapes for the different
elements such as entity (table), relation, category, etc.. but the objects
don't have database properties.

For example, I select the entity object abd drop it into the drawing. Then
right click on the new table to add columns, but there is no option for
properties!!

I used this extensively in Visio Pro 2003 (either Pro or Architect - don't
remember), so I understand the expected behaviour.

You can see if you have Visio Pro 2007 or Standard 2007 in Add or Remove
Programs, you can't tell it anymore from Help/About in the application.
2007 doesn't have an Enterprise Architect edition and it doesn't come in
any Visual Studio 2008 edition.

If you have Professional edition you should have Database Properties on the
Database shapes (entity, relationship, etc...)when dropped on a page, if
you don't see Database Properties when right-clicking on a database model
shape, then check these two settings in Visio 2007:

1. Tools/Options/Advanced/'Enable Automation events' (make sure it's
checked)
2. Tools/Trust Center/Add-ins/'Disalbe all Application Add-ins (may impair
functionality)' [make sure it's un-checked]
