Visio Error 100, Please HELP!

B

Brian

I have Visio Technical 4.1.
Ive been working on a file for over a month, allways saving after major
changes etc.
yesterday we lost power and PC turned off while working on this file.
Restarted computer, went through the check that it does when it doesnt shut
down properly, and opened up in the "safe mode".
Now i cant open my visio file. I keep getting an error message saying Error
100 occured, cannot open file because this is not a visio file.
Under properties, this file is saved as a visio file, but i just cant open
it. I really dont want to loose a months worth of work.
Any advise is much appreciated.

Are you able to open one of your backups?
Can you create a new file, save and open that correctly?

Unfortunately, Error 100 means the file is corrupted beyond the point that
Visio can attempt to repair it. Your only hope is that if you have a backup
of the document.

Sorry, I know that is something you did not want to hear.
