Visio Error Deleting Page After Publish to PDF

Running Visio Pro 2007, I ran into a bizarre behavior that I can't figure out
how to get around. I have a multi-page document. After using Publish to PDF
I tried to delete one of the pages and got the following error:

An error (512) occurred during the action Delete Pages.
Visio cannot delete the page because it is open in another Visio window.

The PDF file is not open. If I close and reopen the drawing without
restarting Visio I can delete the page. How can I get to the point where I
can delete the page without having to close the drawing?

The problem seems to be that there is a hyperlink on page 1 that
points to page 2. After exporting to pdf, page 2 can't be deleted.
If the hyperlink is removed before doing the export, then re-created,
the delete works fine.
