Visio - how to unlock a shape to resize?

My shapes in Visio's UML Activity Diagram all have grey handles, so can't be
resized. The MS Help says they need to be unlocked, but I can't find how to
unlock shapes.

Select the shape you wish to ungroup, then from the menu
Window -> Show Shapesheet
in section Protection, set cell "Lock Group" to 0
