Visio replicating data changes in shapes not chosen

In Visio 2010 - I'm attempting to edit text within one shape only. Once I complete entering text and click off shape, it replicates new information in multiple shapes...what can I do to turn off this automatic function ??

Grace -- you are correct that editing the text in one shape should not affect other shapes.

What template and stencil are you using? Some templates have added behavior...
