visio should allow timeline dates back to the 1200's or earlier so one can do
historical timelines. This would be a great help for teachers.

According to Microsoft, time began on Jan 1, 1900. Until the operating
system adds support for historical times, it is very difficult to include
support at the application level. We are investigating options that do not
rely on the system calendar though.

Agreed, we need a timeline that does not have strict Date/Times. All we
need is a numeric value or even just customizable text labels.

I would like more than just the year. I am tracking land deeds over a 20 year
period in the 1700's - 1800's and would like to enter at least a month and
year.

This is not unusual for family historians.
