Visio Timeline

Hi,

I am showing a project status using a timeline diagram. But to reduce space
and to space all the milestones properly I have broken it down into different
small timelines for the complete period (e.g. My project is ranging from Aug
2006 to Jan 2008, so I have created Aug 2006 to Aug 2007 as one time line,
then Aug 2007 to Sep 2007 as another and rest as one).

I want to know can merge 2 timeline scales and make it as one or split one
timeline into multiple timelines.

No way to merge timelines right from Visio, but if you have Project
installed you could export each timline to a separate Project (*.mpp) file,
then insert those two Project files into one "master" Project, and then
import that master project into Visio. The only catch is that Visio doesn't
import tasks from the inserted projects if they were "linked". So when you
insert the projects into the master project make sure to uncheck "Link to
project".

Thanks,
But the the option that you have told me will work if I have two projects.
But in this case I am showing only one project but due to lack of space and
project being to big I am breaking it into smaller timelines to show it in a
better way.

What I mean is export each Visio timeline as a separate Microsoft Project
(if you have Project installed) and make a master project in Project, then
import that one into Visio.
