VISIO UML Diagram problem

I am experiencing a problem with VISIO 2000 Professional where after a
document is created with the UML Model template, double clicking on objects
returns the following error:

Title: “UML Background Add-onâ€

“This UML Shape exists on a drawing page which is not part of a UML Model
diagram. This shape is designed to work in drawings created using the UML
model diagram template.â€

Directly after creation, the properties can be accessed and changed over
and over, and the document saved. Then all of a sudden, the next time the
document is opened, and the properties of an object are accessed, that error
pops up.

Unfortunately, by that time, much effort has been placed into the document.

Any help is appreciated

I know that this newsgroup isn’t the best place to post, but I am using
the Microsoft managed newsgroups, and there was not a VISIO specific one. I
can post to the general MS newsgroups, but there isn’t the guaranteed
response (at least not in my experience).

Thanks for the help.

Hi Steve,

As far as I know, this problem could be caused by a variety of factors.
Regarding this issue, you may create new UML shapes based on UML Model
Template with simple customization. Then check if this issue occurs.

If the problem persists, it may be related to the Visio application. You
may uninstall and reinstall Visio 2000 via Control Panel - Add or Remove
Programs to see if it helps.

If the problem does NOT occur, it may be related to the customization in
this file. As the public Visio newsgroups cannot help you with the issue,
I recommend that you open a Support incident with Microsoft Customer
Service and Support (CSS) so that a dedicated Support Professional can
assist with this case.

For a complete list of Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS) phone
numbers, please go to the following address on the World Wide Web:
