Visio viewer creates bitmap output as PDF file

Regardless of whether I use Adobe Distiller or CutePDF, the visio view
drawing shows up as a rasterized picture within the PDF file. This is
bad if the drawing has lots of small print. Anyway around this,
besides purchasing Visio (the propects of which are...challenging)?

Since the IE browser is performing the Rendering, I am not aware of any
method for improving the display beyond the tools in the browser.

However, you might want to take a look at Visio 2007 Standard, if you only
desire to open and render drawings to PDF. Office 2007 and Visio 2007 have
the ability (through a free download) to save files directly to PDF output,
with high quality results.
