I need test visio viewer in my machine, but i've visio 2007 and when i'll
open a visio drawing in IE, it'd open in ViSIO.

How a can do this ??? run a visio drawing in a visio viewer

Another question, there is another way to visualize, visio drawing ?

thanks

I've not used the Viewer, but, since you have Visio on your machine, I
suspect that it is the default program used to open Visio files. Your
options should be:
1.) Right click on the file, select Open with, and choose the Visio Viewer.
2.) Put the viewer on a machine that doesn't have Visio installed.

You can also use 1.) to change the default open with program from Visio to
Visio Viewer.

Hope this helps.

Visio 2007 always 'owns' the file extensions, so the action to open the
Visio application is normal and working as designed. Even if you were to
reconfigure the Windows application linkings to point at the Viewer add-in
(not application, it is an IE add-in), this would disappear as soon as
Visio launched the next time - due to expected self-repair actions.

Presumably the visViewer utility still does not "Own" the Visio extensions,
however, which was the core question ... how to make the file open in the
viewer instead of the Visio app.

Barb ... I would not dare to presume that visViewer could ever "own" the
Visio extension!
You can drag and drop Viso files onto the visViewer though. :)

Actually, if you open Visio.exe (Visio 2007) using /noreg switch, then Viso
Viewer 2007 will remain the default visio program. You do need to change the
permissionson visio.exe to only allow folks who should be allowed to use it
and remove the local users group. I created a local group that was provided
modify permissions to visio.exe. I updated the default Microsoft office
visio shortcut (under all users\start menu\programs\microsoft office) to add
/noreg. Of course, folks who can use Visio 2007, need to open it first
before opening the visio file.

Working with both Visio Viewer 2007 (as default visio program) and Visio
2007 for certain folks!

Actually, I was able to get Visio 2007 and Visio Viewer 2007 to work on the
same machine! It requires Visio 2007 to be started with /noreg switch and
permissions to be restricted on Visio.exe to only folks that are licensed to
use it. Of course, the folks who can use it, have to start Visio 2007 first
and then open the visio file they want to edit.

It's working great!
