Visio XML Writer

Wayne Gibson

Hi,
Was wondering if anybody has seen or written a Visio XML writer?

I'm looking for a way to export some 2D Drawings into Visio and this seems
like the best way to me. Unless somebody else has a better idea?

Thanks

Could you elaborate a little more - you want to generate a drawing from some
other xml format, or from another vector-file format?

Hi Chris,
I'm doing some 2D drawing in C# and I now want to offer the abililty to
save it as a Visio Drawing. After some research, it looks like the
Visio XML Format would be the solution. The reason for this is that
the client won't have to have Visio installed on their machine.

The only problem is that I can't seem to find an examples of how to
write this file..

Thanks

Gibbo

Hey Wayne,

I did a talk on tis in January. The presentation is here:

http://www.visioconferencecontent.com/ (search for Roth")

I'm not sure if the content is, though. Lemme know if you can't find the
downloads, I might be able to post them.

I think you can find yourself buried under all those visio xml tags :)
Unless you are batman :)

Possibly, but a lot of those XML tags are defaults. Chris did a demo at the
Visio conference last January and he tried to show how little you need to
create a drawing.

Yes, you are right. It depends :)
I've seen that presentation.
From the other side, we have tried to transform
Visio XML to SVG (using XSLT) without Visio...
.... and have found ourselves buried under those XML tags :)

Regards, Nikolay.
