What does this piece of software do? What are the other features of Office
2003 that I may find useful. Does anyone have a complete list?
many thanks

Hi Rob,

MS Office Visio is a diagramming product that can build or update diagrams of computer networks, org charts, room layouts and more
from data files. http://office.microsoft.com/visio for the 2007 version or http://microsoft.com/office/visio/prodinfo for the prior
(2003) version.

Visio is not included in any of the MS Office suites, but is avaialble as a standalone product.

Your other question is a bit open-ended. Not knowing what you may need to accomplish, it's not easy to say which features you'd
find 'useful' <g>.

Tell me about it. The mind reels at the thought of all of the completely
useless things you can do with it. Have you done a crime scene yet? ;-)

(I want to lay out my living room. They MUST be another way to arrange the
furniture!)

Crime scene? Hmmm. No, I'd better not go there...

When we moved from an 8500 square foot house to a 2400 square foot
condominium Visio came in very handy. I'm an interior decorating wizrd with
Visio!

I even did the silverware drawers. Ahem. The effort did not receive the
appreciation it deserved. There were those of us who felt that the move would
have gone faster had one pair of hands had been less busy at the keyboard and
more busy at other chores. I'm a measure twice and cut once kind of guy. And
I like to do the measuring and let other people do the cutting.

;-)

The most useful features in Visio (to me) are the ones that enable to me
waste hours and hours of time accomplishing nothing. The application is
downright charming, and it sucks me in every time I use it. I wind up
doing
test designs and diagrams of anything that comes to mind. My favorite
Microsoft product.

Oops. Wifey just saw me opening Visio and gave an exasperated little
sigh...

Play with the crime scene - it's fun. ;-)

You did one heck of a downsizing! Our place is just under 2000 sq ft but the
living room is not rectangular so I thought that if I laid it out with
Visio, I'd find a new arrangement and get some practical experience with the
program.
