Can someone tell this novice what I get if I pruchase the Vista Premium
operation system? Do I still have to purchase Microsoft excell or does it
come with the operation system?

Microsoft Excel is not part of Vista or any other version of Windows.
Microsoft Excel is available as part of Microsoft Office or as a stand alone
