vista won't print .wmf files, why?

Word (Office 2003) will print out .wmf files OK on Windows XP Professional
but not on Windows Vista Home Premium. Any suggestions on how to rectify this
anomaly? Clearly it's an old file format but if XP supports it, why not Vista?

Perhaps because Vista requires an updated printer driver?
