Visual Basic Runtime error '5'

I had just uninstalled Office 97, and Installed Office
2000.

My O/S is Windows 98SE

When I double click any word document that was created in
Word 97 in thenewly installed office 2000 environment, I
receive a pop-up error box indicating Visual Basic Runtime
error '5'.

When I open any document from within Word2000 (file/open)
the error does not occur.

Any ideas?
