Visual Interdev 6.0 SP 5

6

6000rpm

when a user tries to create a new project, names it, hits ok. it tries
to open a temp file, and asks you if you want to open, save or cancel.
also there are about 5 other error messages after that. One being:
"Object variable or with block variable not set" so seeing this i
went to technet and tried what i found in this article (
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/255196/en-us ) even though it was for
the Service Pack 3 version... i tried registering the files like it
says. that didnt work. it doesn't work for any of the user profiles
on the machine. Is this a framework problem? MDAC problem? does
anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

The computer is a Dell 2+ GHz, 1Gb RAM, Windows XP SP2, plenty of
harddrive space...

thanks!

I would try posting this to a group that supports Visual Interdev. Probably more experts there than in a general Office group.

After furious head scratching, 6000rpm asked:
