visual notification of email

I am using Outlook Express 6.0 and am wondering if there is a way to
have a visual notification that there is mail waiting. I cannot use
sound notice as it disturbes others.

I don't have an envelpe showing on the task bar. Is there something I
need to do or is it that I have to re install Outlook?
