Hello Gurus,

Is it possible to have a Visual Report template embedded into a Project
Workspace?

Thanks

Mauricio

Mauricio that is a very interesting question. What exactly do you want to
achieve?
Generally you can save the template into the document library of your
workspace for others to use.

Marc,

I have modified some of the out of the box visual reports with some specific
graphics and additional data and i want to make these reports available on
the project workspace for all of the enterprise projects. I thought a webpart
would be the right way. It is my understanding I will need Excel Server for
the excel reports and I am clueless on how to make the visio reports
available.

Thanks for your help

Hi Mauricio,

Actually, Visual Report templates and Excel Sercices are 2 seperate
technologies.

If you want to give all your MS Project users a new visual template for them
to use within MS Project, you can save this template to the document library
within your workspace and they can download it and use it on their MS Project
Instance.

If you like to display Excel reports and give users the ability to view and
filter certain information wihtin an Excel spreadsheet and you want to make
this excel spreadheet accessable via the Web, then you could use Excel
Services, but please note you will require MOSS ( Micrososft Office
SharePoint Server) in order to use Excel Services.

Please let me know if you need more inforamtion.
thanks

Marc,

Maybe I did not explain myself clearly enough.

I have modified the Baseline Report under Assing Usage. I want this modified
visio template to be available as a webpart on each project workspace on the
EPM ecosystem.

Hope this helps clarifying... And thanks again for your help

Mauricio,

The only way I can see that working is with Excel Services. This would allow
you to include the web part into the workspace. You would have to recreate
the visual report by accessing the Project Server Analysis Cubes ( unlike the
local visual report cubes), but it is essentially the same.

Hope this helps
